This robot kit includes all the parts needed to build a robot - a micro-controller board w/ built in memory, servo motors, body parts, a power unit, 3-color LEDs, drum, drum sticks, and programming. This is perfect for kids 6 years and older to start learning about robotics. It is a great economic option for just about any size budget.

The bundle also includes 3 live instructor-led classes online (1 hour each week). In the class, kids will learn about designing, building, and programming (coding) to enhance overall learning experience and to help build a solid foundation in robotics. Kids will learn about the "why" behind various steps of designing, building, and programming the robot. Kids learn about the coding fundamentals, learn about the specific code and make changes to the code to create new functions that this robot can perform.

Kids can decorate the robot's body as they wish and personalize it. Parents and/or older siblings can also join the fun and help the younger one build the robot.

Kids will learn to think critically and improve their self-confidence while you see lots of smiles on their faces as they see immediate results of their work.

What will kids learn?

They will learn a lot in 3 live instructor-led online classes (1 hour each week).

First, kids will learn the basics of robotics including the specific parts needed to build a robot. Then, they will build a robot with the specific parts supplied in the kit. They will then be introduced to Arduino programming console and program the robot to calibrate it. They will then program the robot with the basic program to bring the robot to life. Before moving onto learning about the basic program, they will learn about the basics of coding using C++ for Arduino. The instructor will then explain the structure of the basic code which includes variables, a setup section called "void setup", functions which are special purpose sections of the code, and the main program section called the "void loop".

Kids will then learn about adding a hardware component- the "traffic light" with red, green and yellow LEDs. They will learn to wire the lights to existing micro-controller unit and program the robot with a new code which will integrate the LEDs with the specific action that the robot will perform based on the color of a light. The instructor will provide a detailed explanation of the code that controls specific actions based on the color of a light and encourage students to modify code to come up with different functions.

Kids will then attach the drum sticks and program the robot with a pre-preapred code so that the robot can play the drum. The instructor will provide a detailed explanation of the code that controls specific actions as the robot plays really cool drum beats. The instructor will provide guidance on the ways the program can be modified where the robot can actually play different drum beats.

After the end of the last class, students will be provided with the actual code which they can modify to make the robot do different things. And continue to learn The possibilities are endless. Kids can continue to work on coding and even add hardware to expand the number of functions the robot can perform. This is a truly multi-use kit (not just one-time use and throw away) as it can be used to program/code additional functions.
